Bio (Eva Jewell)

Eva Jewell is Anishinaabekwe from Deshkaan Ziibing in Ontario. Eva received her B.A in Indigenous Liberal Studies from the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, NM, and an M.A in Indigenous Governance from University of Victoria. From an artistic home and upbringing, she is a proponent of the indigenous aesthetic tradition. Her research interests include artistic narratives of post Indian survivance, the indigenous art of transformational pathways from colonial disruption to resurgence, and most recently, emotional competency in community development. She lives in Deshkaan Ziibing with her husband and daughter.
